Potassium nitrate KNO3 (potassium nitrate, potassium nitrate).
Potassium nitrate is a colorless to white crystalline powder, sometimes with a yellowish-grayish tinge. It is widely used in agriculture and other industries: in metallurgy it is used for hardening metals; is a part of some pyrotechnic compositions and gunpowders; for clarification and discoloration of crystal glasses, as well as for strengthening glass products is used in the glass industry; for the production of thermosalts, enamels, heat carriers; is a valuable non-ballistic fertilizer containing two nutrients - nitrogen and potassium.
Potassium nitrate dissolves well in water.
Potassium nitrate is packed in polypropylene bags with polyethylene liners.

Potassium nitrate must be transported by covered vehicles in compliance with all the rules for the carriage of goods, on transported vehicles. Do not carry out loading, unloading, transportation and storage of nitrate together with combustible substances, potassium cyanide, mineral acids, thiocyanates. Also, do not mix with straw, sawdust, peat, coal and other organic substances to avoid spontaneous combustion, explosion and fire.
