Urotropinum of фарм 2933694000
Hexamethylenetetramine (urotropine) is one of the very few synthetic drugs currently in use time, with more than 100 years of history: it began to be used as early as 1884. The drug has an antiseptic effect, mainly in the urinary tract. It is used in pure form and as part of combined medicines (for example, calcex).
In its pure form, hexamethylenetetramine is administered orally or intravenously, in the form of salts: hippurate, indigo carmine or camphor. The mechanism of action is based on the release of free formaldehyde, which denatures bacterial proteins. Urotropin is used as an antitoxic, antimicrobial and diuretic agent for inflammation of the kidneys, bladder and urinary tract in cattle and pigs.
The drug is used for intoxications and toxicoinfections in order to neutralize and accelerate the elimination of toxins from the body ... Urotropin is also used in complex therapy in the treatment of endometritis and mastitis with signs of intoxication in cows. The drug is used intravenously (in pigs in the ear vein) 2 - 3 times a day in the following doses: cattle 1.5 - 2 ml per 10 kg of body weight, pigs 0.5 - 0.7 ml per 10 kg of body weight.
The duration of the drug and the dose depend on the nature and severity of the disease. Registered as a preservative additive in the food industry (code E239). Often used in cheese making and for preserving caviar.
