Sulfuric acid H2SO4 - strong dibasic acid corresponding to the highest oxidation state of sulfur (+6). Under normal conditions, concentrated sulfuric acid is a heavy, oily liquid, colorless and odorless, with a sour "copper" taste. In the technique, sulfuric acid is called its mixtures with both water and sulfuric anhydride SO3.
Sulfuric acid is used:
- in the production of mineral fertilizers;
- as an electrolyte in lead-acid batteries;
- to obtain various mineral acids and salts;
